My Educational Philosophy

I believe the purpose of education is to create individuals of sound mind and of sound drive. Education is the means by which we can accomplish much in this world. Without education, we would repeat the mistakes of our past. We cannot move forward if we do not know what is behind us. Education is the means by which people accomplish great things. Educators and parents together need to have a single goal in the lives of our students and their children, to provide a place where all can learn and feel safe doing so.
I believe students have a unique role in education. They will get out of it, what they put into it. If they want to become more and achieve more; then they will. If they do just enough to get by; then they will in life as well. If they do not try at all; then life will be the same way for them. In the end life will be what is put into it. I expect my students to strive for perfection. Whether they achieve it or not, is not the most important thing. When we shoot for 100% and get 80%, then we know where we can improve and get better while still passing. However, if we only shoot for 80% and get 60%, failure has been in the goal from the beginning getting to the top is much harder.
I will be there for my students to answer questions and to be an example of a great educator. I will be available and reachable. I will be the kind of teacher that inspires and drives my students to be more than they think they are. I will be one that encourages and teaches positive self talk. I will be the kind of teacher that parents request their children to be in. I can see the good in people, and will expect my students to see the good in themselves and others. I will also expect my student to respect and see the good in their fellow classmates.
A teacher has to be good example in the community. Without the community, we as teachers are nothing. We must rely on community and parents and students to work together toward a common goal. We cannot achieve more without everyone onboard with education. The teacher needs to work with the Parent Teacher Associations to make the schools and run smoother. We have to have a common goal, if we are to succeed. I will be that teacher. I will work and fight to make my students succeed
